Charlotte Art League (CAL) is a 501 (c)3 non-profit visual arts organization that offers a unique mix of open working studios, classes, and community outreach programs along with a public gallery.

Since 1965, CAL has served as an accessible gateway to the arts experience for art lovers of all ages and backgrounds. We are Charlotte’s oldest nonprofit art gallery and organization. After residing in South End Charlotte for over 20 years, CAL has recently relocated┬ánear the NoDa/North End neighborhoods

CAL relies on annual membership dues, studio rentals, donations, and grants to sustain its activities. Membership in CAL is open to emerging artists, professional artists, art educators, art patrons, and anyone else committed to the vital role that the arts plays in building a strong, vibrant, and diverse community.

Charlotte Art League exists for the purpose of art: to create it, teach it, foster it, promote it, advocate for it, and grow from it, thus enriching the community.

Mission:

Charlotte Art League is a diverse, non-profit organization dedicated to enriching the cultural vitality of Charlotte through visual arts. In support of emerging and professional regional artists, CAL offers affordable working studios and display space, free shared work space, mentoring, member promotion, exhibition exposure, and workshops in a variety of contemporary and traditional media.
