Charlotte Art League (CAL), Charlotte’s oldest nonprofit art gallery and organization is looking for a Community Manager !
The Community Manager will work with members, potential members, general public, hosts, the staff and board to execute CAL’s mission and vision of bringing art and art opportunities to local, emerging, and underserved artists.
Duties and Responsibilities Include:
Work during Open Gallery Hours to ensure the needs of the gallery and its art space renters, members, and visitors are met
Assist the Host and Membership Chair with onboarding new members, including sharing knowledge about CAL and giving tours
Establish working relationships and be the point of contact with the renters and members to address and assist with their input and concerns
Effectively communicate with members and the public about upcoming events and other happenings at CAL
Ensure the gallery is in working order during open gallery hours and before and after special events
Demonstrated proficiency using Google Docs, Google Sheets and other similar organization programs
Experience using social media platforms and creating marketing material using templates
Highly communicative, motivated, and reliable in an effort to see forth the success and progress of our organization
Excellent business writing and organizational skills
Independent, self-starter who is willing to work hard and get a little dirty to get the job done
Experience using WordPress preferred
Experience managing groups, working for a nonprofit, OR working in a rental environment preferred
Assistant Director, Executive Director, and Board of Directors
Part Time: 12-20 hrs/week
Wed, Thurs, Fri during Open Gallery Hours 11am-3pm
Off Mondays and Tuesdays
Work as needed during special events on Friday nights and weekends
Salary and Benefits
$10/hr to Start plus 8×8 Studio (worth $165/month) and free Professional CAL Membership (worth $85/year). Endless coffee, beverages and snacks included.
