Hang your art in the lobby of the Manor Theatre, 609 Providence Rd., for a period of six weeks. This opportunity is for current CAL members only.
Two artists may share the space. Contact Timmy Hord to set your date. hordstudio@gmail.com or call 704.332.6175.
The Manor Theatre is one of the first satellite venues for Charlotte Art League since the 1960s. Now managed by Regal Cinema, we are extremely fortunate to have this venue continue to be a well received display for our membership.
Here’s how it works: Contact Timmy. Meet her at noon on the date selected (always a Monday) to change artists. We must finish hanging the show by 1:30 p.m. when the Theatre officially opens for the day.
Bring 6 to 8 artworks ready to hang with proper wiring. You may bring your own tags, or fill in the information on blank cards with the CAL logo on them supplied by Timmy that day. Include your contact information (phone number or email) along with the price and medium of the works on your cards so that sales calls come directly to you.
To make your sales, meet the client at the Manor at a time during the movie, when the Lobby is empty so as to not interfere with the before-film ticket and concession sales. For example, if the show time is 2 p.m., please meet your client at 2:30 p.m.. Also, take an artwork with you to replace the one sold, so the Lobby remains properly adorned. It is on your honor to pay a 20-percent commission to Charlotte Art League in appreciation of this fine venue.
On the take-down date, please meet Timmy at noon to pick up your art while she assists the new artists.
From online reviews of the Manor:
“I do love the displayed paintings inside though, it does scream art theater right into your face”
“… the lobby is full of nice art.”
