Need a venue for an upcoming event? Charlotte Art League’s gallery space and classroom area is available for rental to members and non-members.

Gallery Specs

Size: 1850 sq ft

Capacity: 150 seated, 250 standing. Capacity: Up to 100 seated and 250 standing. CAL has limited tables and chairs available. Additional furnishings may be provided/rented by the renter.

Classroom Specs

Size: 254 sq ft

Capacity: 8 students for art classes, depending on media. 15 can be seated comfortably for meetings.

Fees and Agreements

For Classes or Income-Producing Events

Members :
  • Pay 10% of income received
  • CAL provides space, tables & chairs, electricity, publicity in newsletter and on website
  • Renter provides additional publicity as desired and all materials and tools
Non-Members:
  • Pay 20% of income received
  • CAL provides space, tables & chairs, electricity, publicity in newsletter and on website
  • Renter provides additional publicity as desired and all materials and tools

Classroom Use For Meetings or Non-Income-Producing Events

Members:
  • $15/hour
  • CAL provides space, tables & chairs, electricity, publicity in newsletter and on website
  • Renter provides additional publicity as desired and all materials and tools
Non-Members:
  • $25/hour (CMS pays $30)
  • CAL provides space, tables & chairs, publicity in newsletter and on website
  • Renter provides own publicity as desired and all materials and tools

Studio Classes:

Members:
  • There is no commission charged for classes taught by a studio renter is his/her own rented studio
  • CAL electricity, publicity in newsletter and on website
  • Renter provides additional publicity as desired and all materials and tools

Gallery Event Rentals

Members, Weekly:
  • Members pay $300 per week for shows to be accessible during CAL’s regular hours of operation
  • Professional Members receive a $25 discount, for a weekly rental rate of $275
Non-Members, Weekly:
  • Non-Members pay $500 per week for shows accessible during CAL’s regular hours of operation
  • Non-Members must sign a contract as provided
Members, Hourly:
  • Members pay $75/hour with a three-hour minimum rental, plus $50 for CAL host
  • Studio artists pay $75/hour with a three-hour minimum rental, $50 host fee waived.
Non-Members, Hourly:
  • Non-Members pay $100/hour with a three-hour minimum rental, plus $50 for CAL host

Luncheons:

  • Members and Non-Members pay $150 for a 3-hour period, and must agree to share attendee email addresses with CAL so participants can be invited to return to the gallery for exhibitions

    I’m interested in using the space for a wedding reception of about 125- would this be possible? If so, I’d love more information.
