About the Artist

Born in Canada and raised in Minnesota, Doug Day worked most of his life in the area of securities and real estate investments. He took his first formal art class 9 years ago at age 67. In addition to some pastel painting, most of his work involves sculpting.

I was born and raised in Mumbai, India and have been painting since childhood. In my 30+ years in Charlotte I have displayed and sold my art at spirit Square, ArtOne-Gastonia, CAL and other places. I have received a grant from the McColl Center for Visual Art.

Alice's Autumn

About the Artist

Sheila Carpenter is a North Carolina artist who utilizes original bits and pieces of the past to create mixed media collages, shadow boxes, dolls, books and tin creations. She finds her materials in antique stores tucked across the country.

Whisper

Oil on canvas. Whisper is a study of fluid brush strokes with subtle color variations interrupted by vivid red markings applied with a palette knife. The stark contrast of the red on yellow background interrupts an otherwise serene, peaceful setting, like a whisper in silence.

Stephen is a self-taught artist that works with a variety of mediums. His primary passion is creating impasto oil paintings, exploring color and texture to produce the illusion of movement. He also enjoys creating fine art photography finding beauty in images that surround us everyday.
